Abstract:

In the system of comprehensive assessment of feed nutritional value, protein plays a special role. With the correct selection of proteolytic enzymes in the diet and with appropriate conditions (pH, temperature, duration and quantity of enzymes), most feed proteins can be degraded to preferred degree in the body: either partially, limited by proteolysis, or deep and complete – to individual amino acids, which is accompanied by an increase in animal productivity.
The objective was to study the efficiency of using the exogenous enzyme Sibenza DP 100 in the diet on productivity and development of broilers chickens’ internal organs. The experimental part of the work was carried out under the industrial conditions of private limited company ‘LISKoBroiler’ on Ross 308 broiler chickens. When the proteolytic enzyme was added to the birds’ diet without decreasing the nutritional value of crude protein and digestible aminoacids, higher values of the average daily gain were observed among all experimental groups compared to the control group, while reducing feed output per 1 kg of gain. While reducing the nutritional diet value in accordance with the matrix by 2.5% for crude protein and digestible amino acids and with the addition of the Sibenza DP 100 enzyme (500 g t-1), growing broilers was characterized by a slight lag in live weight compared to the control group, but with the most effective consumption feed per 1 kg of gain. The abovementioned system for the proteolytic enzyme use had the most positive effect on the morphological structure of the pancreas of broiler chickens.

The European performance indicators of broiler chickens as influenced by stocking density and sex

Abstract:

The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of different stocking densities on the growth performance of Ross 308 broiler chickens up to six weeks of age. A total of 216 one-day broiler chicks were randomly assigned to three treatment groups based on the stocking density: Low (LSD) = 14 chickens m-2, Medium (MSD) = 18 chickens per m2 and High (HSD) = 22 chickens m-2, with four replications. Higher body weight gain (TWG) was observed for the low (2,043.89 g) and medium (2,008.03 g) compared to the high (1,901.51 g) density. The study revealed that chickens of the LSD treatment consumed significantly (P < 0.01) more feed compared to the HSD chickens. High stocking density (22 m-2) tended to improve feed conversion ratio compared to medium (18 m-2) and low (14 m-2) stocking density, but the differences were not significant (P > 0.05). From the results of this study it can be concluded that broiler chicks can be stocked up to 22 chickens m2, as far as required standards are assured.

Abstract:

Spruce needle extractive substances were produced from a forestry by-product –green biomass of spruce needles. Spruce needle extracts contain a significant amount of natural biologically active substances. During our investigations the evaluation of biologically active substances from spruce needle total extract and of neutral extracts was carried out to assess their effects on innovative composition broiler chicken meat. The feeding trial was conducted with cross Ross 308 broiler chickens by adding the spruce needle total extract and, separately, neutral extract substances to the composition of broiler chickens’ diet. Using spruce needle extractive substances increased live weight on average by 4.31–7.58% (P &lt; 0.05) and decreased feed conversion by 6.28–7.33% in comparison with the control group. The use of neutral extract substances in the poultry diet improved the composition of fatty acids, increased the amount of total carotenoids by 0.45–0.57 mg kg−1 and decreased the cholesterol level by 11.16–23.66 mg 100g−1 in meat.
